Black and White Film Project Conception

I went to TBA Credit Union to open a savings account. I like the idea of keeping my money at a local institution like TBA. I failed at actually opening an account because I didn’t have the minimum $100 required to keep the account open. I’ll have to wait until I get my first substantial paycheck.

I went to The Camera Shop and bought a roll of Ilford Delta 100 Black & White film. Later I went back and bought an Olympus AF-10 (a.k.a. the Infinity Jr.). It’s a 35mm point and shoot with a 35mm lens. I’m going to start a weekly thing on this blog where I shoot a roll of film and post the results on Thursday nights. It takes about a week to process black and white film at The Camera Shop. The timeline will look something like this:

1st Thursday morning I’ll pick up roll A, turn in roll B, and buy roll C. 1st Thursday night I’ll post roll A.

2nd Thursday morning I’ll pick up roll B, turn in roll C, and buy roll D. 2nd Thursday night I’ll post roll B.

3rd Thursday morning I’ll pick up roll C, turn in roll D, and buy roll E. 3rd Thursday night I’ll post roll C.

So on and so forth…

I’m excited about this. I can’t wait to shoot and see my first roll. I don’t want to overestimate my own ability to commit but, shit, I may even compile the photos into books, at least for myself (and my mother :P).
